EarthMatters NetWORKS is a group of environmental educators, youth and organizations that have come together to make a difference in the community and the lives of its people.
In order to acheive our mission, EarthMatters offers a broad range of programs to enhance your interior and exterior living spaces and to educate our young people on the benefits of environmental responsibility.
Kids Permaculture- Individual work with children explores the magic, mysteries and marvels of nature and ecology while learning about natural co-dependence, sustainable and alternative energy sources. Horticultural therapies include learning the difference between dirt and soil; composting with worms; tree, plant, and flower identification; planting window boxes and/or "yardens." Fast growing seeds are planted, examined and nurtured.
Healthy Conflict and Reconciliation - "Conflict Happens" and we all need to know how to deal with it in a healthy manner. Peace education games and "feeling charts" help identify real emotions and help identify the deeper situations. This session teaches how to focus on the positive and build strength in adversarial situations. One-on-one coaching and mirror work in role playing, drama, and improvisational skits.
There's plenty of fun with meditation, team building, sharing and self-esteem affirmations.
G.W. Carver Workshops - These workshops are inspired by the great many works of agricultualist G.W. Carver. Along with the history of his discoveries and inventions, we delve into his philosophy of nature and its true meaning.
Urban Permaculture - Permaculture is a design system for creating sustainable human environments. At its core, permaculture is about the relationships we can create between plants, animals, buildings, and infrastructures. The aim is to create systems that are ecologically sound and economically viable.
Our Permaculture workshops, we try to expose as many children as possible to the many facets of permaculture, environmental fun, learning, challenges, and solutions.
